FYI you can download WAMP from http://www.wampserver.com
- To allow the use of "<?" in stead of "<?php", enable the PHP short_tags in WAMP > PHP > PHP Settings
- Change MYSQL default (empty) pasword:
- Start MYSQL console
- press return to log-in with default password
- enter update mysql.user SET password=password("blabla") where user="root"; and hit return
- flush privileges; and hit return
- Update "config.inc.php" with the new password in C:\wamp\apps\phpmyadmin3.3.9
